This was a recent shoot for the Commbank app that now lets you search for and finance a car, all in the one place.

Stills were separate to the TVC production but captured on-set on the same day.

Shot in full midday sunlight, we scrimmed the talent and car to soften the harsh light. Then we added a little flash to brighten her clothes. We also laid white boards down in the foreground to brighten the wheels and panel work. These were later replaced in retouching with clean plates, shot afterwards.

Because of the way the job evolved, I ended up sourcing the car and the phone. If I hadn’t fully appreciated the work of producers and stylists before, you can rest assured I certainly do now. There’s definitely more than meets the eye to being able to find the ‘right thing’. In the right colour, available in time and on budget.

Our clients from M&C Saatchi and Commbank were a dream to work with. But a special shout-out goes to our talent, Erin, with her superb sense of humour. Made saying things like ‘love that car more’, not creepy at all.
