Shot in a bus in a hurry

This was meant to be shot in between TVC takes on a bus at night while they drove around Moore Park. In dim, almost candle light.

But luckily for me, every available space on the bus was taken, which spared me from having to crouch behind someone's butt waiting for my two seconds of opportunity. (To shoot the couple, that is.)

Now the thing about buses, especially cool vintage buses like this one was, is they have crap suspension. And the DOP want's the bus to look dark, so you have very little light, and a need to keep the shutter speed high to avoid blur. Plus you also need to stop down for depth of field. And the client really wanted to see the Beats logo - which means you really need to light the shot.

So we decided to shoot stills after the TVC crew were done. Thank God for that.

Still had to be done in a hurry though as we were in overtime for the bus.

    Client: Telstra

    Agency: The Monkeys
